Need a faster, cleaner way to establish grass or stabilize soil?

Hydroseeding is a fast, effective, and affordable way to establish a healthy lawn while improving seed coverage, moisture retention, and erosion control.

A Better, Faster Way to Grow a Beautiful Lawn

At Makin Space, we offer professional hydroseeding for residential and small commercial properties looking for a better alternative to traditional hand seeding with straw.

What Is Hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding uses a specialized machine to spray a blended mixture of grass seed, water, fertilizer, tackifier, and protective mulch across prepared soil. This slurry creates a nutrient-rich blanket that helps the seed stay in place, germinate quickly, and grow more evenly.

Why Choose Hydroseeding?

Faster Germination

The mulch layer helps retain moisture and creates better conditions for sprouting.

More Even Coverage

The slurry applies seed and nutrients consistently across the surface.

Healthier, Thicker Grass

The mixture gives grass a stronger start and supports early root establishment.

Cleaner Than Straw

Hydroseeding mulch is sterile and free of weed seeds.

Cost-Effective Alternative to Sod

Delivers a strong finished result without the higher cost of sod installation.

Custom Seed Blends

We can tailor seed selection for sun, shade, traffic, erosion-prone slopes, or lower-maintenance lawn goals.

Erosion Control & Soil Stabilization

One of the biggest benefits of hydroseeding is its ability to protect and stabilize soil. The tackifier in the mulch helps the mixture bond to the ground, forming a protective layer that:

  • helps prevent soil loss during rain
  • reduces wind erosion
  • keeps seed in place on slopes and uneven terrain
  • stabilizes disturbed ground after grading or construction
  • supports temporary soil stabilization on construction sites until permanent vegetation is established

Our Hydroseeding Process

1. Site Preparation

We arrive to a site that is cleared, graded, and ready for seed.

2. Slurry Mixing

We blend seed, water, fertilizer, mulch, and tackifier in the hydroseeder tank.

3. Application

We spray the mixture evenly across the soil surface, including slopes and hard-to-reach areas.

4. Protective Coverage

As the material dries, it forms a moisture-retaining blanket that protects the seed and soil.

5. Establishment

With proper watering, grass typically begins sprouting in 7 to 10 days, with fuller coverage developing in the following weeks depending on weather and seed type.
